We can continue to burn money on ever more expensive imported fossil fuels. Or we can invest in measures that will help create up to 2 million European jobs, reduce our environmental footprint and prevent more Europeans falling into fuel poverty.
We need your support to convince policymakers that Europe can’t afford to wait for policy measures that encourage the deep renovation of our buildings.
The European Union is currently discussing new legislation on energy efficiency. This is our chance to create European jobs, reduce CO2 and protect Europeans from rising fuel prices through deep renovation. Policymakers need to be reminded that for every Euro of government money invested in energy efficiency in buildings five Euro is generated through additional taxation and reductions in unemployment spending*.
Support the Campaign so that we can achieve an overall reduction in energy demand from buildings of 80% by 2050 as compared to 2005 levels.
